The first leg of the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup semifinals between Philippine Azkals and Singapore Lions happened last Saturday night December 8, 2012 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila wherein it ended in a scoreless draw 0-0.

The Philippine Azkals will be playing Singapore Lions again for the second leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 semifinals on Wednesday December 12, 2012 to be held at Singapore’s home turf at  Jalan Besar Stadium.

Because of the away goals rule, Philippines can advance to the finals of the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup if they can hold the Lions to a 1-1 or 2-2 draw in the second leg on Wednesday.

However, another scoreless draw will result in two extra 15-minute periods being played and if there are still no goals, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout.

The Philippine Azkals ended their AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 campaign with a 0-1 loss to Singapore Lions in the second leg of their semifinal clash at the Jalan Besar Stadium Wednesday night.

Khairul Amri scored the game’s lone goal for the hosts in the 19th minute and brought them to the finals.

The Azkals only needed a goal to draw the match and advance on aggregate but the Lions held on to their slim lead.

It was the second-straight semifinal appearance for the Philippines in the biennial competition.
