The Philippine National Football team, called the Azkals, will face Myanmar White Angels for their third game of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Group Stage to be held at the Supachalasai Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday November 30, 2012 9:20PM.

Below is the schedule for the Philippine Azkals at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Group Stage. All games to be held in Thailand. Philippines’ first two matches was a loss against Thailand, the host, 1-2 and a win against Vietnam 1-0. The Azkals will play Myanmar today for their last game.

A win by the Philippine Azkals will qualify them to the semifinal round, a repeat of what they did last Suzuki Cup in 2010.

11/30/2012 (Fri)   – Philippines 2 – 0 Myanmar – WIN

UPDATE FT: Philippines 2 – 0 Myanmar. Goal scorers: Phil Younghusband 47′, Angel Guirado 93′. PHILIPPINE AZKALS are through to the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Semifinals. Thailand tops Group A with 9 points and Philippines as runner-up with 6 points.

Tie-breaking criteria

Ranking in each group shall be determine as follows:

  1. Greater number of points obtained in all the group matches;
  2. Goal difference in all the group matches;
  3. Greater number of goals scored in all the group matches.

If two or more teams are equal on the basis on the above three criteria, the place shall be determined as follows:

  1. Result of the direct match between the teams concerned;
  2. Kicks from the penalty mark if the teams concerned are still on the field of play;
  3. Drawing lots by the Organising Committee.

The Myanmar White Angels are currently ranked No. 156 in FIFA’s world standings. The Vietnam Red Warriors are ranked No. 138, while Thailand’s War Elephants are ranked 152nd. The Philippines are ranked No. 143.

The Azkals fought Myanmar to a 1-1 draw last March 21, 2012 at the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 Qualifying Group Stage in Myanmar where James Younghusband scored for the Philippines on the 76th minute and Myanmar equalizes on the last minute during stoppage time.
