Marquez: “I think this fight is going to be better than the first one because Juan Diaz is a great fighter and a great warrior and I am too. I want to dedicate this to all of my fans around the world, my family, my kids, my wife and the Mexican fans around the world. I have prepared very hard and I am ready.”
Nacho Beristain, Marquez’s trainer: “They call Juan Diaz the ‘Baby Bull’ for good reason. You combine his style with Juan Manuel’s style and you will have another great fight.”
Diaz: “Here I am in a big pay per view fight and it just makes sense that I’m going to win. I lost my last fight and this time I will win and I’ll keep winning from now on.”
Ronnie Shields, Diaz’s trainer: “The first fight is definitely one of the best fights I’ve ever been involved in so rest assured the second fight will be more than exceptional.”

Marquez-Diaz 2 Boxing Fight Recap
Juan Manuel Marquez earned a masterful unanimous decision over Juan Diaz on Saturday night, picking apart his younger opponent to retain his WBA and WBO lightweight titles.
Marquez captivated the crowd at the Mandalay Bay Events Center with precise punching and slick defense in a rematch that was nearly as entertaining as the fighters’ thrilling first meeting, which Marquez won on a ninth-round stoppage in February 2009.
Marquez further erased memories of his one-sided loss to the larger Floyd Mayweather Jr. last September by picking apart somebody his own size.
Diaz has lost four of his last six fights, yet showed remarkable stamina and courage against one of boxing’s most punishing fighters.
