GAME 1 UPDATE: Bryant scored 40 points, Lamar Odom added 19 points and 19 rebounds, and the Lakers opened the series with ruthless offensive efficiency with a 128-107 victory on Monday night.

GAME 2 UPDATE: Gasol scored 14 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter, Bryant had 21 points and 13 assists, and the Lakers roared away in the final minutes for a 124-112 victory Wednesday night to claim a series lead that seems much more daunting than 2-0.

GAME 3 UPDATE: Amare Stoudemire answered his critics with an exclamation point, and there will be no sweep in the Western Conference finals. Stoudemire matched his career playoff high with 42 points, 29 in the second half, and grabbed 11 rebounds to power the Phoenix Suns to a 118-109 victory Sunday night that cut the Los Angeles Lakers’ lead in the series to 2-1.

GAME 4 UPDATE: Phoenix Suns evened the West Finals series at 2-2 with a victory in Game 4, 115-106, Tuesday night. The Phoenix bench finally delivered as advertised, and it could hardly have come at a better time. Channing Frye broke out of a horrendous shooting slump by making four 3-pointers for 14 points, and the Suns pulled away in the fourth quarter for the second game in a row. Kobe Bryant scored 38 points

GAME 5 UPDATE: Ron Artest rambled into the lane and beat the buzzer with a wild shot after rebounding Kobe Bryant’s miss, and the Lakers edged the Suns 103-101 on Thursday night to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference finals. Bryant had 30 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for the Lakers, but the improbable hero of Game 5 was the only new player on the defending NBA champions’ roster.

GAME 6 UPDATE: LA Lakers are the 2010 NBA Western Conference Champions as they beat Phoenix Suns in Game 6 111-103. 2010 NBA Finals Lakers vs Celtics is set, refer to the link for the schedule.

Get ready, Boston. Kobe Bryant and his Los Angeles Lakers want a rematch. Bryant wrapped up a magnificent series with 37 points, Ron Artest added 25 and the Lakers held off the Phoenix Suns 111-103 on Saturday night to win the Western Conference finals 4-2.

The Lakers and Celtics, the NBA’s premier teams for much of the league’s history, will meet in the finals for the 11th time with Game 1 Thursday night in Los Angeles.

Bryant scored nine points in the final 2 minutes, including what looked like an impossible 23-footer with Grant Hill in his face and 34 seconds to play. The basket put Los Angeles up 107-100 and the scrappy Suns were finished.

Amare Stoudemire, in what may have been his last game with the Suns, scored 27 points but struggled to a 7-of-20 shooting night. Steve Nash had 21 points and nine assists in his 118th playoff game, the most for anyone who has never reached the finals.
