No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal takes on No. 5 seed Robin Soderling Sunday afternoon June 6th for the French Open 2010 Men’s Final match at the Philippe Chatrier Court, Paris, France. Game time is scheduled at 3:00pm Sunday June 6, 2010 .

Rafael Nadal beat Jurgen Melzer in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, 7-6(8-6) in their semifinal match. All Nadal cares, is now just one victory away from winning  his 5th French Open Championship.

In the other semifinal match, No. 5-seeded Robin Soderling advances to the finals for the second year in a row, defeating No. 15 Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic in 5 sets 6-3, 3-6, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 that required 3 1/2 hours to play.

“It’s always good to have beaten a player before. I know that I can beat him. I showed it,” said Soderling, who knocked off defending champion Roger Federer in the quarterfinals Tuesday. “But, again, every match is a new match, and every match is different.”

UPDATE: Rafael Nadal defeats Soderling for 5th French Open title.  Nadal played his unique brand of relentless, perpetual-motion tennis to handily beat the No. 5-seeded Soderling of Sweden in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 Sunday afternoon. Nadal won his fifth French Open championship, his seventh Grand Slam title overall, and earned a return to No. 1.

Nadal’s knees are fine now, which means he is an entirely different player from the one Soderling stunned at Roland Garros in 2009
