4th-seeded Jankovic has beaten Shvedova of Kazakhstan 7-5, 6-4 to reach the semifinals of the French Open for the third time in her career.

Jankovic, a Serb, also reached the semifinals at Roland Garros in 2007 and 2008, then lost each time.

Jankovic rallied three times from a service break down in the second set and closed out the victory when Shvedova double-faulted.

Shvedova was the first woman from Kazakhstan to ever play a Grand Slam quarterfinal and the only unseeded player among the quarterfinalists.

Jankovic will face Samantha Stosur in the Semis, after Stosur stunned Word number 1 Serena Williams 6-2, 6-7, 8-6, over at the Philippe Chatrier court.
