The 2.4GB Windows 7 public beta download is now available at Microsoft’s site but still the promised 2.5 million product keys, that Microsoft will distribute, are not yet out.

What we’re waiting on right now are the 2.5 million product keys Microsoft said they’d start handing out at noon today PST. Till that happens, you can get started on your download now using the links above. The beta (build 7000) will run just fine for 30 days without the key. Computerworld also reports that without an official Windows 7 product key, you can extend the trial from 30 to 120 days using the slmgr -rearm command.
