- Costa Rica lose to Trinidad and Tobago, OR
- they draw with Honduras AND Costa Rica draw with Trinidad and Tobago.
Honduras will qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup if:
- they defeat the United States AND Costa Rica lose to Trinidad and Tobago.
UPDATE: USA defeated Honduras in a thriller 3-2 to book their place at next year’s FIFA World Cup finals. Honduras must now travel to El Salvador for their final game needing a win to avoid the play-off while the USA can now relax at home against Costa Rica.
