UFC 94: St-Pierre vs Penn 2 fight event is scheduled on January 31, 2009 Saturday 7pm PT/10pm ET at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be their 2nd encounter.
Their 1st encounter was last March 2006. Top welterweights Georges “Rush” St-Pierre and BJ “The Prodigy” Penn fought for the division’s No. 1 contender’s spot in which St-Pierre earned a razor-thin split decision and went on to win the UFC welterweight title. Penn dropped to the lightweight division and won the organization’s 155-pound title.
This time in this fight, there is much more at stake where UFC lightweight champion BJ “The Prodigy” Penn looks to be the first fighter in history to hold two UFC championships at the same time when he faces Georges “Rush” St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight championship.
