Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants
When: Sunday, December 13, 2009 8:20 PM ET
Venue: Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ

Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) vs New York Giants (7-5) Preview

Eagles try to keep the Giants in rear view but they must pay attention to TE Kevin Boss as he is an integral part of Giants’ offense, and Philadelphia can’t afford to lose sight of him.

The last time the Philadelphia Eagles visited Giants Stadium, they ended the New York Giants’ bid to repeat as Super Bowl champions. The Eagles can damage the Giants’ bid to reach their fifth straight postseason Sunday night when the NFC East rivals conclude their season series.

Including postseason, Philadelphia (8-4) has won three straight over New York (7-5). The Eagles won 40-17 at home Nov. 1, and prevailed at Giants Stadium twice last season including a 23-11 victory in a divisional playoff game.

If the Eagles’ streak reaches four, Philadelphia will be two games up on New York with three games left and own the tiebreaker over the Giants for any playoff spot. The Eagles are tied for first in the East with Dallas.

The last time the two teams, the Eagles jumped out to a 30-7 halftime lead and cruised past the Giants, 40-17.  Last week in NFL Week 13, New York Giants dominated on special teams in a 31-24 victory over Dallas Cowboys while Philadelphia trounced host Atlanta, leaving the Georgia Dome with a 34-7 win..

So, let’s all wait and watch Eagles vs Giants live stream online, Sunday night.

Game Recap

Dynamic DeSean Jackson tied an NFL record for long touchdowns and carried the Philadelphia Eagles to the top of the NFC East on Sunday night. Jackson scored on a 72-yard punt return and a 60-yard pass from Donovan McNabb, sparking the Eagles to their most points this season in a 45-38 shootout victory over the New York Giants.

The second-year wide receiver missed last week with a concussion, but was in sensational form in boosting Philadelphia (9-4) into prime position for the playoffs. He has eight touchdowns of 50-plus yards this year.

New York (7-6) also had its share of big plays, including TD passes of 68 and 61 yards by Eli Manning in a game marked by shoddy tackling on both sides.  (Source: Yahoo! Sports)

I saw the entire game and agree with Chris Collinsworth that there were many dropped passes which should have been caught. I disagree with him about Mario Manningham’s route. Maybe Mario could have led the defender more to the center before he broke to the corner, but he would have been in bounds with the route he was running, if Ely had hit the corner. Manningham was running a flag route and the ball did not hit the corner. Because of the ball’s trajectory I think that Ely was aiming for the corner and was not following Mario Manningham’s route. Ely missed the spot and Mario was able to catch the ball but could not drag his left foot in bounds. He should not have received the amount of blame which Collinsworth gave him, because the ball was clearly thrown wide left. Otherwise Ely had a tremendous throwing game but has to learn how to fall sideways and somehow hold onto the ball. I know that his bad right foot must make it difficult for him to slide. Other than the fumble and the second pass to Manningham, he was near perfect. He should be given a lot of credit for getting rid of the ball and hitting the receiver when he was almost sacked. The commentary on this part of Ely’s game was very good.
