Two top AFC heavyweights, the  Patriots and the Colts, will get in the way this Sunday night football.  New England parades a 6-2 record while the Indianapolis is unbeaten 8-0 in as many games in this season.

Tom Brady has returned from major knee surgery and Peyton Manning has moved on without his longtime head coach, but when it comes to their teams’ places in the standings, little has changed for the NFL’s last two MVPs.  The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts again look like Super Bowl contenders, and the Patriots will try to derail the Colts’ 17-game regular-season winning streak as they renew their star-studded rivalry Sunday night.

The Patriots (6-2) have relied on a patchwork defense to help them to a commanding lead in the AFC East while the Colts (8-0) have a two-game lead on the rest of the conference under first-year coach Jim Caldwell.

Their last meeting was last season in Week 9 where Peyton Manning passed for 254 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Colts past the Patriots, 18-15.

Last week in NFL, a missed Kris Brown field goal as time expired allowed the Colts to avoid overtime and beat the Texans, 20-17, while the Patriots fended off a game Dolphins team and came away with a 27-17 victory.

UPDATE: The Colts come from behind and win against the Patriots, 35-34 in the 4th Quarter after trailing 13 with 3 minutes left. Indianapolis Colts still unbeaten in as many games 9-0. What an ending. The Patriots suffered its 1st loss when leading by 13 points.

Peyton Manning rallied the Colts to an improbable 35-34 win after a costly decision to go for it on fourth down costs the Patriots.
