Update: Pacquiao vs De La Hoya Undercard!  Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank have just announced the addition of two twelve (12)-round title fights to the December 6, 2008 Pay-Per-View undercard of “The Dream Match,” with the main event 12-round welterweight fight between two of boxing’s biggest attractions Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao. NABO junior welterweight champion “Vicious” Victor Ortiz (22-1-1, 17 KOs) will defend his title against Jeffrey Resto (22-2, 13 KOs) while WBO junior featherweight champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez (23-0, 21 KOs) will also defends his title against Argentinian National super bantamweight champion Sergio “Rocky” Medina (33-1, 18 KOs).  I hope that they will also add other exciting matches. By the way, tickets for the super fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas are already sold out, but no worries if you really want to watch the fight live because the MGM Grand will host a closed circuit telecast .

UPDATE: Pacquiao Wins Via 8th round TKO over De La Hoya

This Boxing Dream Match of Manny Pacquiao vs Oscar Dela Hoya was on the news for quite a while now. The much anticipated boxing bout between Pacman and The Golden Boy is now set and is in the final stages and preparation and no one can stop them except for injury and health related problems. Manny Pacquiao vs Oscar De la Hoya scheduled fight will be held at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on December 6, 2008 (December 7, 2008 AM Philippine time). As of press time, nothing yet was made public on how much each of them will receive or pocket for this Dream Match fight.

Pacman, Yahoo Sports Best Pound-for-Pound

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, for the third straight month, is the clear choice as the world’s finest pound-for-pound boxer in the monthly Yahoo! Sports poll. His last fight was a TKO win in round 9 over David Diaz last June 28, 2008. But an old nemesis, Juan Manuel Marquez, is now nipping at the Filipino’s heels and is following Pacman’s steps in the lightweight division. Pacquiao retained his top spot by garnering 18 of the 23 first-place votes cast from the blue-ribbon panel of boxing writers and broadcasters from around the world.
