Shane Mosley Wins via 9th round TKO in a stunning upset and became the new WBA Welterweight CHAMPION of the world. Mosley totally dominated Margarito throughout the fight from start to finish. Mosley’s right hand proved to be the main weapon that had Margarito hurt in the 4th round. Margarito was knocked down in the seventh, but was saved by the bell to survive the round.
Despite his advancing age, the 37-year-old Mosley used his superior quickness from the beginning, and Margarito never was able to display the power and fortitude he showed against Cotto.
