Success! At last, I have just withdrew my earnings from my PayPal account to my UnionBank EON CyberAccount debit card. After PayPal secretly announced that Philippine PayPal users could use their Credit Cards and Debit Cards to withdraw their paypal funds, I verified and tried my UnionBank EON CyberAccount debit card that has a Visa Electron logo on it. It took 5 banking days to wait to get my funds posted in my UnionBank EON CyberAccount online.

I fully withdrew a total amount of $105.84 in my PayPal with a fee of $5 last October 11, 2007 and after 5 banking days, it was successfully posted in my UnionBank EON online account.

Below is the screenshot from my PayPal account. Transaction date October 11, 2007.

I have been using UnionBank EON CyberAccount Debit Card since October 2002, and I am on the second card now because the first one expired last October 2005. I can attest that this is a very reliable debit card, no problems so far in my online transactions. The Annual fee for this card is PHP 350 that is deducted to your account funds, that’s more or less $8.00. Please refer to the 2nd attached image, where PHP123.48 + PHP226.52 is PHP350.

    The 12 digit # is your bank account number while the 16 digit # is your EON card number.

    Hey Charles got here by following your comment on my blog. Buti ka pa nakapag withdraw na. I was having a hard time getting mine to work and it took me a while before I ia pointed out to me that I needed to have at least $1.8 in the account because Paypal will charge you once and return the money later as part of its verification process.

    Thank you for visiting. Good thing you’re on the right track in verifying your card with paypal. After that, you can now withdraw thru your eon.

    That should put the negative bashing from ebay.ph to shut. ebay.ph’ers can’t get UnionBank’s EON to work. So they say that everyone who says it works are liars.

    Hi Charles…finally I was able to get here…tnx for regularly visiting my blog…I hope you pick up something new and useful everytime.

    About EON, I do have my EON since Oct. 25. I signed up online and picked up the card in Alabang. Paid 350 and deposited some.

    I tried to have my PayPal verified, for which I’m now waiting for some number that has to come with the statement….PayPal said it usually takes 3 to 5 days but it has been more than a week now I think and I still don’t have any reflection on my account. What was your experience on this matter?

    Another note, PayPal charged you $5, right? Is that fixed for any amount withdrawn? How about the issue that PayPal charges you for RECEIVING while sending is free?

    If it takes $5 to send money to my bank that takes 5 days before you can actually get the money, then maybe I’d rather go for Xoom which charges me $5.50 and usually the money is available the next day or, from my experience, 2 days max. It can be sent to your bank, delivered to your doorstep or picked up from a bank. By the way, my Italian PayPal is what I use and it’s unverified.

    Hi!

    I got my EON Card last week and have enrolled it online. Then when I try to apply it on my Paypal Account, my card was denied. Through this blog, I learned that I need to deposit at least 90 pesos. So I just deposited 500 on my EON Account. Then I tried adding the card again on Paypal to get my Paypal Account verified and I am still receiving the same error.

    I checked my EON CyberAccount online and it has the 500 pesos that I deposited. Please advise.

    Thanks!

    Sorry but I just got too excited, I should have said my card was accepted not verified. I still need my 4-digit expanded use number. I just emailed the EON customer service through my online account on EON.

    Your EON account number is the 12 digit # which you can find at your EON card just below your name. The 16 digit # above your name is your card number.

  28. 30
    charles // November 19th, 2007 at 4:45 pm

    You don’t have to worry about that. The bank will automatically convert your dollar to peso base from their current foreign exchange rate. :) You just have to check your EON online banking for the detailed transactions. :)

  29. 31
    charles // November 19th, 2007 at 11:13 pm

    What do you mean by still waiting for activation, which activation part? As far as I know, When you receive your EON, the bank will let you check and set your PIN in the ATM to be activated, I think it will take just 2 days. Then enroll it to online banking, 2 days again. that’s just my experience. :)

    I was able to fund my card immediately after claiming it from the greenbelt branch. Sinabay ko na sa pagbayad ng annual fee. I gave the New Accounts Clerk P500 (P350 for the annual fee and P150 initial deposit) so in my case napondohan ko na sya kahit hindi pa sya activated :D

    Is your EON account is already activated, meaning you can inquire balance thru ATM machine? Did you try calling their customer call center support? Better yet, call them, it’s free using their toll free number.
    Please check again your 16 digit card number found in your card. It should be 16 digit number.
    Hope your EON will be activated online soon.

    Alex,

    Dapat may laman ang EON account mo kahit na P100 lang kase magdededuct ang PayPal sa’yo ng $1.95 just to make sure na makatransact ang PayPal sa EON account mo. Don’t worry ibabalik din yung $1.95 sa paypal account mo after ma-activate ang EON mo PayPal, but before your card can be activated you have to wait for about 3-5 days para makuha mo ang EXPUSE number mo para magamit pag-activate sa card mo sa paypal.

    i applied EON card online last December 29,2007. How long will it takes to get my card? I assumed that it will delay because of a week holiday.

    i dont have a card yet but i learned a lot from you guys… thanks anyway…

  43. 45
    charles // January 1st, 2008 at 8:37 pm

    @vhonne
    Usually, it will take you 3-5 days of waiting to get your eon card at the Unionbank branch you specified for pickup. Then the bank will make you deposit P350 for the card to be activated and it will take you again 2 days to wait.

    Note: The P350 you first deposited will not appear in your eon account balance as it is (as per UnionBank Davao Victoria Branch) the processing fee daw.

    To check if your eon card is activated, you have to make a balance inquiry and if successful then your card is already activated.

    If you still have no PayPal account yet, Get PayPal account now!

    Better if you have P100 in your EON account balance If you want to attach or add a debit card or credit card to your PayPal account because PayPal will charge you $1.95 just to make sure that your eon is accepted and activated for online banking. An EXPUSE # will be used to verify your debit card you have added or attached to your PayPal account and it will again take you 3-4 days to know it by emailing unionbank eon services.

    I guess this is it. Don’t forget to ask questions here.

    HI,

    It shows in my PayPal account that the transaction had been completed but it’s not reflecting on my Unionbank account?

    Would it take more days before it goes to my Unionbank account?

    Elaine

  46. 48
    charles // January 3rd, 2008 at 5:34 pm

    You must have a Dollar account in a bank when encashing Google Adsense cheques. Banco De Oro bank is a good bank I can recommend. So better open an account now at BDO.

    How come you don’t have a Western Union option in payment in your Adsense account? It should have.

  47. 49
    charles // January 3rd, 2008 at 5:40 pm

    As for my experience, I have withdrawn twice already, usually your money withdrawn from PayPal to your EON card will reflect in 3-4 days.
    But there are some saying that it will take a month. If you’re worried it will take that long, just call their customer service support toll free. ;)

  48. 50

    anyway, i just linked my paypal account w/ my eon and i’m currently waiting for the expanded use number… where can i find it after 3-5 days since i can’t access my cyberaccount?

    Kaso Xoom malaki ang charge tapos yung conversion from dollar to pesos mababa. Personally I have Paypal business account, and charge lang was the money coming in but when you requested the money to your EON’s bank account (the 12-digit bank account number as bank account number) for 7,000 pesos and up is FREE. Sa akin it took me 2 days reflected na kaagad sa EON account ko as you can see on my blog here. This is the first time I transferred without a glitch or problems.

    Just wanna ask guys, i had some problem regarding my EON Card.

    Here’s the thing, the name shown on my card is my mom’s, cause that time i don’t have any I.D when i applied, so my mom got the card for me. And the name on my Paypal account is mine. Would i still be able to use my mom’s EON Card? Hope someone could reply asap. Thanks.

    hi!
    im having a hard time on my union bank EON account linking it to my paypal. i got my fresh and new Eon last week, with funds in it,and its fully activated.

    everytime i try to get verified/link and confirm my debit card, i always get this error

    ” This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer’s customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.”

    i’ve been calling union bank from time to time, and it seems they cant help me with my problem, anyone know how can i resolve this?

    ive been checking from time to time, but the error still comes out, i really dont know how to fix this,if anyone encountered this problem and knows how to resolve it,im humbly asking for your help. thanks in advance and God bless

    @blue,

    How about attaching your unionbank eon to paypal through bank account type. it is fast and no charges when withdrawing than credit or debit card process. Refer to the link below:

    Successful Withdrawal From PayPal To Philippine Bank Accounts

    charles // June 30th, 2009 at 6:59 am

    @blue,

    have you enrolled your eon to unionbank’s e-banking online? you should enroll it to have it activated to be used to verify in paypal. also, if it won’t work even you have enough funds in your eon account, try withdrawing small amount of cash just to have your eon account have some transactions generated, but first you have to enroll ur eon account to UB’s ebanking. Go to http://www.unionbankph.com/, then click EON Cyber Account button and then register or enroll you eon.

  83. 87
    charles // July 7th, 2009 at 4:23 am

    @Sheng

    What do you mean buy using paypal via EON?

    If you mean you are funding paypal using EON, you can transfer funds naman from EON to paypal. or Better yet, use your EON to buy online, it’s fast and easy.

    Question po if you know kung magkano ang maximum na pwede ilagay (deposit) sa eon? Wala kasi nakalagay sa unionbank eon site, ang nakalagay lang is ung maximum withdrawal and maximum purchase per day which is 20K, hindi naman nakalagay kung magakano ang maximum deposit na pwede. Salamat!

    Cliffordx // July 20th, 2009 at 12:01 am

    I think, IMO, hindi nila inilagay magkano kasi you can put any amount there, whether it’s a couple of thousands or a multiple millions of pesos.

    Pagkaganun na malaki na, it’s better to move to an Unionbank bank account, not EON (no passbook)

    the 16-digit number is the Card number.
    the 12-digit number is the account number.

    i ran across this forum while checking online the solution for my delimma. I enrolled my EON account to the Internet Banking, i got the confirmation email from unionbank and tried to access my account online but there is a window saying

    “newly enrolled EON users can only login with user ID”

    I tried checking whee i can register for a user ID but cant find any link. When I enrolled, i used my 16 digit card number and my pre-alloted ATM pin number as my pin. My account also has 500php in it (excluding the 350 annual fee) and before I left the branch checked on the atm machine and the card is already activated.

    so, how am i gonna get that user ID?

    thanks for any help.

    @Maricar

    What User ID did you enroll or use when you enroll your EON account to Unionbank’s internet banking?

    I you can’t remember or lost track of it, you can call Unionbank’s Customers Toll Free and relay your problem.

    Hope this will be resolved immediately.

    Lynn // December 12th, 2009 at 4:14 am

    @Maricar

    I encountered same problem as yours when I enrolled my eon account. You have to call your Union Bank branch and let them know you are having difficulties enrolling to internet banking. Take note of the exact error message you get whenever you try to log in and relay this to the bank personnel. They will be the one to make the follow up with their IT people.

    Hope this helps.

    I have a question, can you still verified your Paypal accounts using Unionbank’s EON account?

    I got a message from Paypal’s customer support which says,

    “after carefully reviewing your PayPal account information, le
    me inform you that you can not have a local Phillipines bank confirmed on the account. Only a U.S. bank can be confirmed on your account.”

    Can anyone confirm?

    Hello Charles,

    You said that you have to wait 2 days to get you card activated and then 2 days after you finished enrolling to online banking, but in my case, 4 days have passed after I enrolled my card to online banking and still I can’t login to my eon cyber account. I can still get a message “Please enter a valid Card Number or User ID”. I try logging in using both my CARD Number and my User ID but got the same message. Any suggestion of what might be wrong?

    Hoping for some reply..

    Ok, hello I just read some comments on other blogs regarding the matter, Charles do I have to deposit at least 200 pesos so that my card be activated on the online banking?

  100. 105
    Karina // March 30th, 2010 at 1:16 am

    For Algen,

    I did encounter that problem when I fist started using Eon. I later discovered I was using the online banking link. When you registered, did it ask you to submit a username? And did you log in at this address:

    http://www.unionbankph.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1035&Itemid=245

    If all else fails, call the number at the back of the card. They’re quite helpful. They might need to reset your account.

    I have same problem. It’s my first time to withdraw paypal using my EON. I withdrawn it last April 29 and the status was already “completed” but until now the money is not yet in my account. The paypal sent an email that says by May 6 the money will be in my account. It’s been a week but none yet. Is this normal in Paypal and EON? HELPPPP!!!!

    Hello everyone. I need your help! I have problem in withdrawing my funds to my EON debit card. Here is the situation. When I click on the link “Withdraw funds to your card” on the ‘Withdraw’ section, I am directed to a page which is asking me to “Add Credit or Debit Card”. Then when I enter my card number number and my address, it prompts me a message which reads “This withdrawal cannot be completed because your card issuer does not allow withdrawals to this card. To withdraw funds from your PayPal account to a credit, debit, or prepaid card, add a different card with a Visa logo.” The usual way is it should put me to a page where it just ask for the amount of money to be withdrawn. Why is that? I am using EON debit card. and I encountered this last Saturday July 17. Hope you’ll me and thanks in advance.

    I tried to withdraw my funds to my bank account, I inputted the 16digits number (card number). They return my money for invalid bank account information. So I tried to withdraw again using the 12 digits number (account number) I hope this time it works. I tried to withdraw on my bank account link, not on withdraw into my card.

    I’m currently experiencing a problem with regards to Paypal. I did “Withdraw to Bank Account”, this is my first time to withdraw funds from Paypal anyway, then it was marked completed. That was August 4, I checked my EON account online if the money is already there, but then almost 1 week has passed, still there’s no news. Now, I opened my email and received this email.

    “An electronic funds transfer from your PayPal account to your bank account was rejected today for this reason:

    Invalid Bank Account Information

    Our system was not able to process the transaction with the bank information listed on your account. You should contact your bank regarding the bank account information required for electronic funds transfers. If you still need assistance, you may email us through our secure server at https:///wf/f=act_verifyba

    How is this so? Please tell me about this. Thanks!

    Hi,

    Just wanted to share my experience using EON. I am just new in using EON. I applied for it and got it it the 7th banking day without delay. Then the bank teller told me that it will take 5 days before I can use my EON VISA Debit card (use in terms of using it in paypal to verify my account, and withdraw funds). But the cashier told me that if the status in the “claim form” of EON is “N”, it is already ok. Then the night that day I registered it in EON cyber account and have accessed it in the 2nd night. After I logged-in, I immediately linked my card in paypal. After two(2) days (note: two days not two banking days) I got my ECPUSE number in my Cyber account and got a verified paypal account. I immediately withdraw funds to bank account, and got it in the 2nd banking day (exactly 48hrs when I withdraw from paypal). I saw it was credited to my Cyber account. UNIONBANK’s EON is great!! For a student like me, no need for applying to other credit cards, go for EON!!
