Update: Just got EON CyberAccount Visa Electron debit card and PayPal Premier account verified.

Just called UnionBank Philippines Customer Service Call Center at Domestic Toll Free number 1-800-1888-2277 and ask for the 4-digit PayPal Expanded Use Number code, which is due this day since I’ve added my EON CyberAccount Visa Electron debit card last Sunday September 30, 2007. Received the 4-digit PayPal Expanded Use Number code, log-in to PayPal and verified my card.

Regarding the withdrawal process, will have to collect some money and try to transfer/withdraw to EON CyberAccount Visa Electron debit card. Stay tuned for more updates.

I have also awaited for Paypal..

Keep me posted if you have successfully withdraw funds from Unionbank account.

Can I ask what are the requirements for opening an EON account? How long is the processing of it?

    Thanks!

    Hi!

I was wondering if you could help me with my EON card predicament.

I just availed of my EON card and tested it on an ATM. It works since I was able to check my pin and go through balance inquiry (though I haven’t done any deposit in it).

But when I tried to place it via ‘Add Card’ feature in Paypal, this msg comes out:

” This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer’s customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card. ”

So I was wondering how were you able to make yours work? I really want to make EON work on my paypal asap but it seems there isn’t no clearcut procedure on how to do so. :(

    Pleeeeeeeease help me! *cries

    @Jasmine
Sorry for your experience using EON in PayPal. Details to consider,
Are you registering Philippines as your country?
Do you have enough funds in your EON account? because PayPal will deduct/charge you $1.95 for adding your credit/debit card.
If yes to those details and still your EON card is denied, I guess you have to call their Customer Service Call Center at Domestic Toll Free number 1-800-1888-2277 and relay your problem.
I hope that this will be resolved immediately.

Same thing is happening to me. I think your answer is correct…you need to have at least the $1.95 for Paypal to withdraw, as your card is automatically added to the expanded use program. I have emailed Unionbank Customer Service about this….and will be depositing P100 into my account anyway just to get the card linked in Paypal. Good Luck.

    Confirmation from UnionBank –
You must have at least P90 in your Eon account to cover the PayPal withdrawal for verification of your card.
I have successfully added my Eon card with PayPal.

You can obtain your expuse number by emailing Unionbank from the email feature within the online banking page of your card. Got my number after 3 days only.
Register for online banking at the Unionbank page, then email them once you are logged in…easy.

As far as I know, their Toll Free number is 1-800-1888-2277. You have to use PLDT landline, I think. I haven’t use skype, mobile, or other telephone company other than pldt.

Usually it would take around 4-5 days to know your EXPUSE number.
Just email them at UBP.EONSERVICES@unionbankph.com or at customer.service@unionbankph.com

Hope this helps. Try to ask them about your EXPUSE #.

hi, i got also verified my eon debit account in paypal but my question is
diba mag cha charge ang paypal ng $1.95 and after ka na verified they will give back the $1.95 into your UB account. but sa akin wla pa. ano kaya problem nito.

Please help does it takes days or weeks before maibabalik ung amount?

  16. 16
    cely // June 4th, 2008 at 8:21 pm

hindi na maibabalik ang amount kasi charge ka ng 1.95$… isa na yon sa mga transaction payment nila… sa lahat naman ng nalilito. lagyan nyo pa muna ng amount atleast 100 peso bago kayo maglink sa mga EON nyo as it is being charge talaga…. try lang then we will know..

I would like to ask for some help. I withdrawed $168+ from my Paypal account to my EON debit card (yes my EON is already verified). Just after a day, my Paypal page says that the withdrawal request is already complete, therefore, I can now withdraw my $168 from my EON. When I logged in my EON account online, the account portion says that I only have 100PHP. What does this mean? Where is my $168 from Paypal? Is there another process on how my $168 will show on my transaction page? What should I do? Also I have 200PHP in my EON debit card deposited (for the activation of my Paypal. Is it the 100PHP (maybe deducted)? Please enlighten me. Thank you.

Kapag ba naverify na ng paypal ang eon ng unionbank, pwede ko na bang iclose ang eon account, or gagamitin parin kapag magwiwithdraw ako papuntang chinabank?

eon cyber account and visa electron account, i guess, is one and the same kind of account. Either of the two will do. For requirements, just visit unionbankph.com for details.

    charles // June 18th, 2009 at 3:42 pm

    Jess,

withdrawing funds from paypal to eon debit card takes 3-5 days to appear in you eon account. the Php 100 that was deducted is the activation fee but it will be refunded back to your paypal account after you have been verified. just don’t worry too much, :) Happy blogging.

  24. 25
    charles // June 18th, 2009 at 3:45 pm

    Racercode,

Eon cyber account will do. EXPUSE number is the 4 digit # that will be used to activate you debit card in your paypal account.

  25. 26
    charles // June 18th, 2009 at 3:48 pm

    totoy,

You don’t have to close your eon account after it has been verified in your paypal account. Sa eon cyber account mo kasi itransfer ang winiwidraw mong funds galing sa paypal.

Hello to all..im happy after reading all the conversation..na mag deposit pa pala ako dapat nang at least 100pesos to my EON para ma link sa paypal kasi same with Jasmine this is also the message prompting to me

” This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer’s customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card. ”

My question..saan po ako magdeposit nang at least 100..do i need to go UB to deposit it? or ok lang thru RCBC..ang concerned ko kasi..malayo kami masyado sa UB ung residence namin..it takes 90km yet for travel..can i make it deposit thru online? as my EON account already enrolled in UB banking online..possible po ba un? online deposit nalang ako..please advise

I have already taken an eon card and have succeddfully added it in my paypal for withdrawal. Yet, when i tried to transfer my money to eon, the paypal denied. I need to deposit 100 to the eon and said i can be able to transfer or withdraw my money.

My question is, if i have already deposited php100 to my eon and withdraw my money, is there immediate loading like odesk with payoneer does? so we can’t wait for more working days?

And, as read the comments above they made mention of the ‘expuse no’_ what is this? i was not asked about this. I am afraid i missed something in my application.and things would go worse, but i have successfully added the bank in the paypal…

It really confused me. got lot of worries. Processing for the first timers on this case is so stressing :( .

Should make a step by step procedure on how to process and what are the possible requirements for the process so things can ve done successfully. from registering an account for paypal up to the withdrawal.

ex. (steps):Take an account to pay pal and for withdrawals(for the philippines)need to get eon debit card at Union Bank, to get verified. (this is for those who do not have credit cards). need only 350 for one year subsxription fee in taking the eon card and deposit a minimum of 100 so transfer of money from paypal to eon will be successful. the money can be withdrawn after few days waiting.

It would be good to have a one time reading of the possible process so people would have a ready knowledge of these things.

    Sorry, but I find it stressing to encounter things like these and there is no immediate answers of the questions. :{

thanks for these space… i am a bit enlightened with my confusions.

I have linked my debit card but unfortunately it’s still unverified. As far as I know I have to wait 2 to 3 days before paypal code will appear on my billing statement. My question is, if I still have unverified account, is it possible to process if i will make a withdrawal transaction while my account status is still unverified? Anybody could help me out?

    ela // March 21st, 2010 at 9:08 pm

cheryl, this is my experience… i waited weeks after i got my eon and verified it then waited one week. then after a week waiting i am asked to deposit 100 to my eon so i could withdraw my paypal money. then i had the problem taking the paypal code no. i so confused where to find it. I was advised to sign up for online eon account which would wait three days to get me logged in. then i found my paypal code by clicking the nickname below. there is the expuse code. then i loaded my money from my paypal and i waited so long about more than a week. so i called the service support it is tool free with the pldt phone, they told me that the information given by the bank (debit card or eon) was not correct and could not process if there is small error. I tried to correct it by putting the “a” at the last part of my zip as told by the service support. then i loaded again my money because it was forwarded back to my paypal. so it was again loaded to the eon…thinking that the money could be withdrawn after 4 days.. but it reached to 7 days again and the paypal sent me notice as they forwarded back my money again for the second time…saying that the info from the bank would not synchronize the info at the paypal. I am not now using my eon lest it would again forwarded back and pay again fees for the transaction. so sad. what i am doing now is transfer my paypal money to my friends’s paypal account and she is the one to load it to her eon, and got my money thru this system.. it seems disturbing to my friend’s part but i feel desperate… i know it can still be fixed in some ways… but i am tired….. may be soon if my fear is gone…….I am advising check ur personal data or info in both sides the eon’s and the paypal’s is similar and no probs. and u cant make it…

Che, believe it is only difficult for the first time. especially nobody can guide you with the process. those i guided and shared my experience took the lesson from me and they got easily…they are using thier eon now with the paypal…and i am also expoiting the benefits…lol.

Hi Ela, Thanks for your promptly responding. My problem was resolved. I’d called up Union Bank to get my paypal code. To all who having problem same as with my problem before, first thing you will do register first your eon card into online banking, visit here first; http://www.unionbankph.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=914&Itemid=269 click CyberAccount Login then enroll your account. You have to wait for about 2 to 3 days working day to be able to make online banking. And once it’s already activated that’s the time you’ll see your 4-digit PayPal code. It’s displayed on your
card statement next to or near the PayPal charge. Hope it would help.

    Sarah*- // May 26th, 2010 at 3:48 am

Hi everyone, just want to share my experience. I am really really FRUSTRATED with UNION BANK. I am quite sure I couldn’t blame PayPal for this because I never had problems with PayPal. Anyway, this is what happened:

I withdrew Php 13,555.26 (1 U.S. Dollar = 43.6478 Philippine Pesos) from PayPal to me EON on May 13, 2010. I know it takes about 2-4 days. I waited until May 20. The funds weren’t there. I went to Union bank. They claim that they have not received any funds from PayPal while PayPal claims that the bank has not rejected it and that I need to wait for the bank to deposit it to my account.

PayPal then asked me for a bank statement that I needed to fax. Union bank charged me Php50 for that even though they knew what the bank statement was for. I can’t believe I need to trace my money at my own expense while I have been hassled! I know a few people who had success withdrawing from PayPal to Union Bank (including my mom).

On May 25, I received an email from PayPal, stating that the transfer has been denied. I checked my PayPal account and they only returned Php 12,009.256. I lost Php 1,546.004. I emailed paypal and demanded that they return the exact amount. They said that they have not initiated it. It was reversed and the bank sent it back to my PayPal, therefore the conversion was PHP to USD and not USD to PHP.

Ugh! I’m really frustrated with Union bank right now because they are not helpful at all. Would you believe, Union bank’s employees here in Baguio are clueless with how PayPal works??? They used to have a BIG PayPal tarp in the bank and they don’t even know how it works! Plus, their employees are really sarcastic and not helpful! I called customer service yesterday, and they said their system is down and that they do not know as to when it will be fixed. I really think that the withdrawal has been denied because of their system.

The email states that it has been denied because of wrong card information but it should have not been verified if it is wrong because I should have not received the verification code. (correct me if I’m wrong!)

Ugh, this transaction has caused me Php 1,500 plus. Unbelievable! Has anyone experienced the same thing? Sorry just want to share my experience.. I don’t mean to offend anyone.

    Thanks.

    Sarah

    Lisette // June 11th, 2010 at 11:07 pm

Yeah. you got a lot of points there sarah. first, it’s really frustrating… paypal reversed my transfer request. not, it’s only $425 from $456. i’ve been waiting for almost a month now (paypal-UB-paypal waiting days). i really need the money for emergency purposes.

second, unionbank’s service REALLY sucks. whenever i call their customer service, they just give me lousy reasons. one time i tried calling around 2am, in the hopes that i can have some serious help from them, coz according to them, it’s “24-hr” cust service. all the agent told me is that their system was down and i have to try it again in the morning (with a matching voice like he just woke up).

does discrepancy in information between paypal and unionbank has to do with personal info like birthdays? coz the representative who accommodated me at a unionbank branch input the wrong information on my birthday. she said all i need to do is register the birth date that SHE has encoded in their system instead of MY REAL birthday. lazy much?

gaad! if there’s any bank who offers the same services for paypal, im willing to try for it. after convincing myself that unionbank needs to improve in their services (by the way, i am an industrial engineering grad, and my specialty is to make room for improvements) i will definitely not rely on them.
