Matt of WordPress.org posted a sneak peek of the upcoming version WordPress 2.5 and is just about to be released anytime soon. Features to be watched for is a customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load times. Is that what you’re looking for in an upgrade?

The software is basically done and stable, and could be released today, but we’d like to incorporate feedback from a wider audience before making it available to the general public. After a few days of your feedback we’ll set a final release date. Personally, I can’t wait.

At last, Pacquiao Marquez 2 – Unfinished Business fight is over now. The result? Manny Pacquiao won via Split Decision. Tere also shares her personal opinion and insights about the Pacquiao Marquez rematch fight.

My web host blocked my site for about an hour because of the traffic surge it encountered and is using above the 10% limit for cpu resources. Good thing, Eugene is kind and helpful enough in unblocking my site and allowed me to fix my site by deactivating some plugins and by using the temporary default wordpress theme for the mean time so as to lessen the use of wordpress plugins. Before my site was blocked, I have monitored that there are around 200-300 guests/visitors accessing my site simultaneously. Wow my first time to experience such surge of traffic. Had I known and change my theme, earlier before the fight, to a simpler default wordpress theme, maybe my site could have handled the surge of traffic smoothly. Just maybe

Anyways, back to blogging and back to my normal and original theme again by wpthemesplugin.com. Holy week is here. How will you celebrate it?

To all my guests and visitors, I’ve just reverted to default wordpress theme layout to lessen the use of plug-ins because I have surpassed my allowable cpu resources at my web host‘s server (2007). Even though at the time it peaked at around 300 guests/visitors simultaneously accessing my site, my web host (2007) blocked my site to lessen the burden of the server and to protect other site hosted at the server. This is the disadvantage of a shared hosting. So many sites hosted in one (1) server. tsk tsk. Overselling indeed. What do you expect? I know they have to squeze their resources just to earn more.

This is just temporary. As the time the traffic stabilizes and lessens, I will revert back to my original wordpress theme. Please bare with the default wordpress theme layout. Thank you.

At last, I have finally upgraded my blog’s wordpress 2.2.1 version to wordpress 2.3.3 version. Nothing easy but it was an experience.

I was inspired to repost GoogleLady’s TimeStamp Powerful Blog Tool article because this tool is indeed very powerful and useful. Also, I was guilty on her second reason. But now I know how to use it.

I have been reading a lot blog posts saying that they are sorry for not being able to post XX days ago because they were to busy, they were on vacation, bla bla bla… But everytime that I read this on certain blogs I came to a conclusion that there are two reasons why they make this:

1. They don’t know about the timestamp tool.
2. They are not appasionated about their blog niche.

…….. I have mentioned #2 that they are not passionated about their niche blog, are those bloggers that don’t know what to write and always wait someone else to make an article and write something “similar” with the same idea.

Yes it is very useful when scheduling future posts in wordpress when you are too busy or when you are on vacation and can not go online. Cowboytf of bloggingcents showed steps on How To Schedule a Future Post in WordPress. Go play with WordPress TimeStamp feature.

WordPress Version 2.3 “Dexter” is available for download now.

This release includes native tagging support, plugin update notification, URL handling improvements, and much more. This release is named for the great tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon.

Here are the new features included:

1. Native tagging support allows you to use tags in addition to categories on your post, if you so choose. We’ve included importers for the Ultimate Tag Warrior, Jerome’s Keywords, Simple Tags, and Bunny’s Technorati Tag plugins so if you’ve already been using a tagging plugin you can bring your data into the new system. The tagging system is also wicked-fast, so your host won’t mind.
2. Our new update notification lets you know when there is a new release of WordPress or when any of the plugins you use has an update available. It works by sending your blog URL, plugins, and version information to our new api.wordpress.org service which then compares it to the plugin database and tells you what the latest and greatest is you can use.
3. We’ve cleaned up URLs a bunch in a feature we call canonical URLs which does things like enforce your no-www preference, redirect posts with changed slugs so a link never goes bad, redirect URLs that get cut off in emails on similar to the correct post, and much more. This helps your users, and it also helps your search engine optimization, as search engines like for each page to be available in one canonical location.
4. Our new pending review feature will be great for multi-author blogs. It allows authors to submit a post for review by an editor or administrator, where before they would just have to save a draft and hope someone noticed it.
5. There is new advanced WYSIWYG functionality (we call it the kitchen sink button) that allows you to access some features of TinyMCE that were previously hidden.

With the new features, I still have to wait for my hosting company Godaddy.com, still using Version 2.2.1, to upgrade to Version 2.3. I have read some comments in other blogs that they encounter plugins/plugin incompatibilities. I would love to hear your experience what you encounter If you already have done the upgrade to 2.3.
