Holiday Season 2008 is almost over and this means eating great food has to slow. Yet we still consume food over our limits. I guess you woke up in the morning after New Year’s Eve and see one too many fats bulging. Well, we can maintain our calories during the holidays without trying to burn them and by not tiring ourselves in the gym.

There’s a way that we can monitor and know our Calories by using Bodybugg equipment. BodyBugg, it says in their site that it is your personal calorie management system. I hope this is true as I still have yet to use it on my own. Below is my own Bodybugg reviews.

The bodybugg makes it easy to manage the calories you consume and burn so that you can stay in control of your weight. Now updated with new features, sleek styling, and a size that is 50% less than the original version, the bodybugg is now even more convenient and easy to use.

You asks, What is a BodyBugg anyway and how does the system/equipment work?

The bodybugg calorie management system uses a patented process for interpreting calorie burn. It is this process of measuring calorie burn and calorie intake that is unique to the bodybugg calorie management system

Motion: The bodybugg armband contains an accelerometer. The accelerometer measures motion. It measures how you move from multiple perspectives to give a fuller understanding of your movement.

Steps: Steps are counted using the accelerometer to measure the distinct patterns created by running or walking.

Galvanic skin response: When you sweat, your skin becomes more electrically conductive. This measurement helps the device understand how active you are.

Skin temperature: There’s an electronic thermometer inside your armband that monitors how hot you are.

Heat Flux: When you move, your muscles produce heat. Your armband measures the heat that’s flowing from your body into the environment.

The data from these sensors, in conjunction with your body parameters (age, gender, height, weight) enable the most accurate estimation of energy expenditure on the market today outside of a clinical setting.

Once the “readings” are received, it is determined how difficult the exercise was. That is important because the way you burn calories is unique to you.

The clinically proven algorithms crunch your numbers – pairing up sensor data with your personal information and let you know how much progress you have made toward making your goals through the easy web based application. (Source: 24hourfitness.com)

BodyBugg new features and benefits:

Uses specialized sensors to monitor calories burned with over 90% accuracy

Manages calories consumed through easy to use web based program included free for 6 months with initial purchase.

Tracks steps with built in pedometer

45 minute phone coaching to help get you started

PC and MAC compatible

Rechargeable battery

Also, since NBC’s hit reality show The Biggest Loser premiered in 2004, The Biggest Loser contestants used the bodybugg® calorie management system, which monitors calorie intake and output to keep people on track to reach their weight loss goals. They are inspired by the transformation of their lives as they are eliminated from the show. Be inspired too. You can watch the latest season of The Biggest Loser at the link provided The Biggest Loser Season 7 Couples.

2008 After Christmas Day Sale | Day After Christmas Sales 2008. Yes, after partying, family reunions and gatherings, we must have been tired. Even though some people have already given their gifts to their love ones, family or friends, still there are some that haven’t even bought one. That’s why some people still have the energy to go last minute shopping, a day after Christmas Sale or After Christmas Day Sale. This event, after Christmas sales or after Christmas ads, is happening same thing every year, of course we celebrate Christmas Day every year. Even though there are Sales or discount before and after Christmas season, still after Christmas sales is the best, considering every employee and working people receive their Christmas and 13th month bonuses this time of the year. In fact, some people may have been waiting for after Christmas sales for the bulk of their shopping. Even with financial crisis and recession, since December 2007, we are experiencing right now and bringing us deeper into economic trouble, but still this can’t hinder our urge to go for sale and shopping spree. This year’s after-Christmas sales may end up as the biggest shopping day of the year.

In the United States, this year’s day-after-Christmas-sales is expected to rival those of Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving that kicks off the shopping season and can put retailers into money-making territory for the year. For the first time, J.C. Penney is opening at 5:30 AM on December 26 and will take orders for wake-up calls on jcp.com. Various other offers from retailers have been advertised online in the hope of enticing shoppers to shop more.

This is as far as I know who have good offers and deals online this season in the U.S., aside from JC Penney’s. Retailers and E-tailers will be pulling out all the stops for the home stretch into the holiday season. When you shop online at the right store you can get even bigger discounts than the sale signs in store windows advertise.

Target.com is offering certain items up to 75% off including clothing, furniture, electronics, and more.

Toys R Us has a variety of different sales on Nintendo Wii/DS games, table games, Hannah Montana, and iPod accessories. Toys R Us circulars in newspapers Thursday will bill the day after Christmas as the “biggest” after-holiday sale with deals including an $81.99 race car set for $19.99 and table games, originally $239.99, for $131.99.

Kohl’s is unloading their clearance at 60-80% off on all clothing.

WalMart is having sales on video games and HDTV keeping up their electronics trend. Wal-Mart is also creating buzz with its Sunday markdowns on “home and office needs.” Rumor is that Wal-Mart will start selling Apple iPhones, this may just be true.

Circuit City is going big on electronics with lots of discounts. Save up to 20% on digital cameras an camcorders, 30% off on GPS, and $100 off on home theater systems.

Bath & Body Works wants you to hold back some cash because its semi-annual sale, with 75 percent off, starts Monday.

Just a practical word of advise: Though discounts and big bargains will certainly be good for everyone, just buy only what you need and be good for you.Even if it is cheap and you’ll not use it, still it turns out to be an expensive one. So buy only what you need.

Right now, some bloggers and webmasters are integrating Adsense for search boxes on their websites so that their users can allow to search for keywords, articles or posts and at the same time earning a chance to get click revenue. But I have been asking myself (or maybe some out there are also wondering) if it is okay or fine to use our own Google Adsense for Search boxes to search keywords, articles or posts in our own site? The answer is yes, it is fine to use it as long as you don’t click on the Ads that appear in the results page. Does this violates Google’s program policies to perform searches in our own Adsense for search boxes? Google’s stand is NO, this doing and activity is not explicitly prohibited in their program policies.

But Google strongly advise not to use our Adsense for Search to search our own site for a couple of reasons. First, it can increase the chance of accidental or invalid clicks on the ads that appear on the search results pages. Second, this will inflate the number of queries in your reports, giving you an inaccurate picture of the activity on your site. Also Google is recommending us that if we would like to use Google search, just visit Google.com or download and install Google Toolbar.

If you have been following and reading my posts about PayPal, you will notice that there really is a way to make money using PayPal through PayPal’s Merchant Referral Bonus Program. It is wherein you are entitled to receive a portion of transaction amounts of the people you referred to PayPal. Last month, I received referral bonuses to my PayPal account. This month, just last week, I received another round of PayPal bonuses. Isn’t that nice and rewarding? Passive income that is.

How do you make money with the Merchant Referral Bonus Program? You have Promote PayPal in your blog or site. Spice it up by using Paypal images and logos and accompany them with lines that drive your visitors to action or use keywords or text that say, “Use PayPal now for fast online transaction” or “PayPal is the easiest way to receive money online. Get one now or Click here to sign up.” Also, inform visitors or readers about using Paypal-UnionBank EON combo for withdrawal of earnings. Of course, do not forget to include your affiliate or referral link when you link to Paypal. Visit other blogs or sites that have the same topics that talk about PayPal and try to help, ask and answer them nicely.

Quoted below is from PayPal. It says:

Each time a new merchant signs up for a PayPal Business or Premier account via the link or banner that you provide, you’ll be eligible for a Merchant Referral Bonus. Your referral bonus is tied to the amount the merchant receives via PayPal’s Website Payment Tools or Send Money. You’ll immediately start earning 0.5% of the new merchant’s revenue — up to $1,000.00 USD — for the first 12 months that the merchant has his PayPal account. Note: The Merchant Referral Bonus program is designed to reward referrals of non-eBay merchants. As a result, payments received for eBay items will not contribute toward the Merchant Referral Bonus.

Just received an email from Google with a subject We are retiring AdSense Referrals

Email message below quoted:

Hello,

Thank you for participating in the AdSense Referrals program. We’re writing to let you know that we will be retiring the AdSense Referrals program during the last week of August. We appreciate your patience during this transition and here are some alternative options to consider:

* Google Affiliate Network: As part of the integration of DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting users located in the United States. Similar to the AdSense Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers
to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions. For further details, please visit: www.google.com/ads/affiliatenetwork.
* AdSense for content ads: If you have less than three AdSense for content ad units on a page, you may wish to replace the referral ad units with standard AFC ad units.

If you currently use referral ads, either to promote Google products or offerings from AdWords advertisers, AdSense Referrals code will no longer display ads beginning the last week of August. We encourage you to take the following steps before the product is retired:

* Remove the referral code from your site(s): Please take a moment to remove all referral code from your sites before the last week of August, so you can continue to effectively monetize your ad space.
* Run and save all referrals reports on your desktop: Create and save all reports related to the referrals program on your desktop, so you continue to have access to your valuable campaign information

Why is this happening?
We’re constantly looking for ways to improve AdSense by developing and supporting features which drive the best monetization results for our publishers. Sometimes, this requires retiring existing features so we can focus our efforts on the ones that will be most effective in the long term. For this reason, we will be retiring
the AdSense Referrals program. If you have any additional questions, please visit our Help Center:
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=14882

Sincerely.

The Google AdSense Team

I hope Google Affiliate Network will be maximized by international members.

The Cow as in JohnCow.com blog is for sale. I have been a reader of his blog quite some time now and he has done a great job in making his making money online blog a success in less than a year earning $2,500 per month now. JohnCow.com started last July 2007 as a parody on the popular blog of The Miscellaneous Ramblings of a Dot Com Mogul JohnChow.com.

John decided to sell his blog for personal reasons. I wonder if Mr. Cow is settling sooner to Ms. Cow down under in Australia. You can view his sitepoint auction here. All I can say is Good luck with your auction and hope for the best that you exceed your B.I.N asking price of $50K. That is a lot of Mooooney. By the way John, If you exceed you B.I.N. price, send to me the excess. HaHaHa.

We will keep an eye out on the Internet’s biggest moooney-makers and publish their best ideas, projects and work.

After Google Adsense Optimization Update, and for about 3 months of testing their Google Adsense’s sliding or scrolling text ads which we have seen and noticed sometime last December 2007, Adsense officially announced it in their blog yesterday April 2, 2008. And for the record, clicks on the ‘next’ and ‘previous’ buttons won’t generate earnings, but these buttons will help improve both advertiser value and your potential revenue. When users click on the buttons, they begin interacting with the ads and are more likely to find the specific offering they’re looking for, which can lead to higher earnings for you.

After months of testing, we’ve just updated our text ad format to include ‘next’ and ‘previous’ arrow buttons for cost-per-click (CPC) ads. When a user clicks on the ‘next’ button, an entirely new group of ads will appear in the ad unit, giving your users greater control over the ads they see and click.

While the ads the user initially sees may be relevant to a publisher’s content, they may not be precisely what the user is seeking — for example, a user may see ads about cheddar and brie cheese but would prefer more information about Swiss cheese. With the ‘next’ and ‘previous’ buttons, users can view more cheese ads until a Swiss cheese ad appears.

How about you Google Adsense publishers, what’s your take on this scrolling CPC text ads format?

Google Adsense update. The latest post on Google Adsense blog talks about “Another look at optimizations” which mentions two optimization guidelines for your site with Adsense Ads.

From Google Adsense blog:

We’ve given you many optimization tips over the years, and, as you know, it’s important to consider how your ad implementations affect not only your click-through rate, but your users’ and advertisers’ experience as well. To support this, we’d like to remind you of the following two guidelines when optimizing your site.
1. Ads shouldn’t be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.

For example, ads shouldn’t be placed under titles such as “Dallas Business Opportunities” or “Today’s Hot Deals”. Placing ads directly below titles such as these implies to your users that the links in the ads are publisher-created content. The example below shows a placement that does not follow this guideline.
2. Ads should be easily distinguishable from surrounding content.
Similarly, you should not place an ad unit by a group of links that has identical colors and line spacing. Doing so may cause users to think the ad unit is content created by you. In this situation, we recommend using a different color for the ad titles or indenting the ad unit to help distinguish the ads from your own content. This screenshot shows an implementation that does not follow this guideline:

As you can imagine, users who click on ads that they think are publisher-created content may lose trust in your site and decide not to return in the future. It’s important to keep their interests in mind, as well as your own.
Also, advertisers can tell which sites have a high conversion rate for them using Placement Performance reports. A conversion occurs when a click on an ad leads directly to user behavior that the advertiser deems valuable, such as a purchase, sign-up, page view, or lead. Advertisers have the option to exclude your site from their campaigns and may do so if it is not leading to conversions.
We believe these guidelines invest in the long-term health of the relationship between AdSense publishers, AdWords advertisers, and your sites’ visitors, and that they will help ensure your continued success in the AdSense program.

My take on this update

Yes, I have noticed that some blogs and web sites are implementing the ads below the post title. I am one of them too but my intention/purpose is not to make it look like the ads or links are publisher-created content. But I guess Google is thinking the other way around. From now on, I will follow Google’s guidelines so that I would no longer have problems in the future with my ads. So, I am changing the alignment of my Google Adsense ads by using the left/right alignment or by wrapping it from my post now and also placing one at the bottom of each of my single posts so that my guests, readers and visitors can clearly make out that they are really ads. Thanks to Marhgil for the heads up.

I am wondering when will Google is going to seriously implement these guidelines to blogs and websites. Will they penalised them right away in anyway or advise them to change the positioning? How about you, what’s your take on this?
