Complete List of Nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards have already been revealed and were announced Tuesday morning, February 2, 2010 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California, by Tom Sherak, president of the Academy, and actress Anne Hathaway. On June 24, 2009, then-Academy president Sid Ganis announced at a press conference that the 2010 ceremony will feature ten Best Picture nominees instead of five.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards Live will take place on Sunday January 31, 2010 and CBS will broadcast the event live which will take place again at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California for the 7th consecutive year.
A total of 109 awards will be presented at the Grammy Awards. 99 of the awards will be presented during the pre-telecast portion. Neil Young was honored as the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year on January 29, two days prior to the Grammy telecast.
Miss America 2010 is the 89th Miss America pageant and was held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Saturday night January 30, 2010. Miss America 2009 Katie Stam from Indiana crowned her successor at the end of the event.
Contestants from all 50 states along with District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico competed for the prestigious title. The pageant was broadcasted live via TLC. This edition was the 5th year that Las Vegas hosted the pageant.

UPDATE: Rio de Janeiro wins the 2016 Summer Olympics bid. The 2016 Olympics Winner is Rio de Janeiro. The first South American city to host the Olympics. Rio de Janeiro selected to host the 2016 Olympic Games beating out Chicago, Madrid and Tokyo.
It is now only a matter of hours before we find out who will host the 2016 Summer Olympics. The announcement will come in less than One hour. City of Chicago’s hope for hosting the 2016 Olympics is gone. Chicago was eliminated in the first round. Also, minutes after, Tokyo was eliminated in the second round.
