Filipino-American Ramiele Malubay - An American Idol 7 contestant - says goodbye to American Idol 2008 who got axed last Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Manila) on Fox’s “American Idol” show. Only eight of the contestants fights for the crown. Ramiele Malubay got the lowest votes from viewers who saw her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind” as unsatisfactory, echoing judge Simon Cowell’s comment that her performance was something “straight out of a cruise ship.” After the show, Ramiele acknowledged that she had difficulty in performing country music. Also, Judge Randy Jackson echoed Malubay’s performance as both “pretty good” and “kind of alright,” while the annoying Simon Cowell termed it “forgettable” and “reminiscent of something you would see and hear on a cruise ship.” I guess, it is not her night after all. The remaining Top 8 on American Idol are Michael Johns, David Archuleta, Carly Smithson, David Cook, Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, Jason Castro, Brooke White.
