2009 NBA Finals:  Los Angeles Lakers vs Orlando Magic

It is set. The 2009 NBA Finals is set. It is between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic – Lakers vs Magic. For 2009 NBA finals schedule, scroll below. I thought it would be Kobe-Lebron / Lakers-Cavs match-up in the finals but Magic proved my wrong, it’s Kobe-Dwight / Lakers-Magic match-up in the making. I know, I know. Almost everybody was expecting Cleveland to face the Lakers in the finals but I guess this is not their year maybe next year. As for now, the only matchup between Lebron James and Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant will have to be limited to those cute TV commercials.

Los Angeles will face Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic, who swept the Western Conference champions during the regular season.  This is Lakers 3oth trip to the NBA Finals in their franchise history and also the second (2nd) consecutive year in the finals as they are last years runner-up against the Celtics.

The Orlando Magic reached the NBA finals 2009 in a grueling and tough way after dispatching Philadelphia 76ers in 6 games, Defending Champion Boston Celtics in 7 games and the Eastern Conference favorites Cleveland Cavaliers in 6 games. This is Orlando Magic’s first time to the NBA Finals since 1995. The Magic were swept by the Houston Rockets that time.

So who will it be? Who will be the 2009 NBA champions? Who will be the 2009 NBA Finals Winner?  This time I will side with Dwight Howard ‘s Team, the Orlando Magic, as they have proven themselves that they are worthy and determined to win the championship this 2009.  Add to that, the Magic won both regular season match ups with the Lakers.  But still it’s everybody’s game. Anything can happen. The ball is round.
